Red Set Records Launches with ANDRÉUS’ Intense New Track, “BAUOW”
Okay, so “BAUOW” is out. ANDRÉUS, the guy behind Red Set Records, finally unleashed this track on April 11th. If you’re into dubstep and were looking for something a little different, you might have already checked it out. It’s a mix of that heavy dubstep sound with a splash of what they’re calling “color bass.” This is also Red Set Records’ first official release, so it’s a pretty big deal.
ANDRÉUS isn’t just some random producer, though. He went to the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, studying music seriously. He’s taking that classical training and mixing it with modern production techniques. The result is surely something unique. He also owns Red Set Records, so he’s got his hands in a lot of different things.
So, how did this whole music thing start for him? Turns out, it goes back to playing Rock Band on the Wii with his brothers. “I was playing the drums,” he mentioned, “and that kind of kicked off my interest in drumming.” Pretty simple beginnings, wouldn’t you say? The real turning point was discovering Skrillex through his older brother. “I didn’t know how those sounds could even be made,” ANDRÉUS admitted. This curiosity led him to drum lessons, where his instructor, Tarek, introduced him to Native Instruments Maschine. He started experimenting and never looked back.
“BAUOW” is ANDRÉUS’ take on straight-up dubstep, but with that added color bass element. He mentioned taking inspiration from tracks like “Turn It Up” by Slushii & Afinity VIP and “Stay” by TYNAN and Ace Aura. If you’ve heard those, you can get a sense of what he’s going for.
The idea behind “BAUOW” was to create something intense, but also kind of surreal. It’s not just about making noise – it’s about creating a feeling. He wanted something that would hit hard but also leave you with a sense of wonder, or maybe a little confusion in a good way. With “BAUOW,” ANDRÉUS aimed for a particular sound, a certain vibe.
“BAUOW” is the latest in a string of releases from ANDRÉUS. He put out “Beyond” back in 2020, and then “Run It” and “Passenger 7” in 2021. In 2022, there was the “Showdown” release. He’s been building up to this point, experimenting and refining his sound.
Based out of Maryland, Red Set Records is now officially on the map. ANDRÉUS is leading the charge with “BAUOW,” and the label is promising more new and interesting sounds to come. They’re doing their own thing, and it’s pretty cool.
